Make your BMW E36 or E46 B48 engine swap easier with the STROM Motorsports Welded Steel B48 Engine Mount Brackets, purpose-designed to correctly position the modern BMW B48 engine within the E36 and E46 chassis.

Designed in CAD and manufactured in-house by STROM Motorsports, these engine mount brackets position the B48 engine as far rearward as possible while maintaining clearance between the front of the oil pan and the subframe.

Laser cut, CNC bent and jig-welded from mild steel, these brackets provide a strong, cost-effective alternative to STROM’s CNC-machined engine mounts and are ideal for road cars, track builds, race cars and complete B48 engine conversions.

Purpose-Built for BMW E36 & E46 B48 Swaps

Correct engine positioning is one of the most important aspects of any engine conversion.

These brackets have been specifically developed to install the BMW B48 turbocharged engine into E36 and E46 chassis, positioning the engine as far back in the engine bay as possible.

The resulting installation places the front of the oil pan close to the subframe while maximising rearward engine placement.

Please note: Minor modification or fabrication is required at the rear of the engine bay to provide adequate engine clearance.

Laser-Cut & CNC-Bent Steel Construction

The brackets are manufactured from laser-cut and CNC-bent mild steel before being welded on a dedicated jig in-house at STROM Motorsports.

This manufacturing process helps ensure consistent fitment and provides a strong, durable mounting solution for performance and motorsport applications.

The brackets have also been CAD designed and strength tested to exceed the strength of the engine mount studs.

Compatible with E46 M54 & S54-Style Engine Mounts

The brackets are designed to work with virtually any engine mount intended for an E46 with an M54 or S54 engine.

This provides flexibility when choosing the level of drivetrain isolation or stiffness required for your build.

When using this transmission, compatible late-model E46 non-M 6-speed transmission mounting components can be used to complete the drivetrain installation.

These engine mount brackets use the same mounting design for both BMW E36 and E46 chassis, making them a versatile solution for builders carrying out a B48 conversion.

BMW E36: Compatible with B48 swap applications. Minor fabrication or modification may be required for engine clearance depending on the vehicle and installation.

BMW E46: Compatible with B48 swap applications and particularly well suited to builds using a GS6-37DZ 6-speed transmission.
