BMW F8X - PRO-LINE

Our PRO-Line has its main focus on motorsport. The available designs, the components that are used, and the available functions are all chosen and designed with motorsport in mind. The perfect steering wheel setup can be tailored to your needs. It will literally give you all the necessary race controls at your fingertips.

The KMP PRO-Line is available in four different layouts. A 4 button, 6 button, 10 button and 8 button + 2 Rotary encoders with push button. The “KMP Original” buttons are usually used in aviation and military. These high quality buttons have a high actuation force (17N) a convenient travel.

For the BMW E9X, we have an extensive list of features available. High-beam flasher, turn indicators, traction control, CAN-Bus output and many more. The possibilities are endless. All features will integrate seamlessly into the factory electronics. Minor wiring needs to be done, depending on the function. All will be supplied with mating connectors and instructions.

Our racing wheels are completely plug and play. You will not have any airbag error, or any other coding issues. The installation is very straight forward. Depending on the chosen setup, additional wiring and descriptions will be supplied as well.

Each BMW model has dozens of features that can be programmed into your wheel. For the most part, KMP programs the new wheel to match the functions from the factory wheel. But you can go further and program features from your column stalks (turn signals, wiper, flash, etc). Turn signal buttons on the wheel are a good idea because the hub spacer will move the wheel (and your hands) away from the stalk. There's also the option of center console buttons like DSC or hazard lights. Some functions will require minor rewiring to be functional. This usually involves de-pinning a connector and re-using the wire in a new connector.

ADAPTER OPTIONS

KMP has many options for your adapters. From quick releases to TUV compliant hubs, weve got you covered.

  • Fixed 44mm Spacer – Hidden wiring under a fixed spacer.
  • Crash-Hub (compatible with TÜV regulations)
  • Quick Release with curly cable – The wheel can be removed but must remain in the car. This cable rotates with the hub which eliminates any potential interference with control stalks.
  • Quick Release – This setup is detachable without any wiring. the wiring is integrated in the hub and is connected through the integrated connector. This means the wheel can be taken out of the vehicle which can be another anti theft deterrant for both the car and the wheel!


SHIFT LIGHTS

A shift light display can be added along the upper edge of the center hub. The colors are 2 x green, 2 x yellow, 2 x blue and finally 2 x red. Max RPM rev limit is programmed as all blinking red. The rev limit is customizable at the time of your order.

RACE CONTROLS

“Race Controls” refers to OEM features that you would use with a gloved finger(s) under race conditions or in race traffic and may be redundant to an existing function on your dash or from a column stalk. Things like flash-to-pass, hazard lights, wipers, speed limiters, and other things you would want to quickly activate at your fingertips. You may also want to control other things from one central area - start/stop, DSC or traction control settings, chassis settings, or power modes. When adding features that are not from the original wheel, some additional wiring will be required. This will likely require removing interior trim to access certain plugs or controls. Guidance will be included when necessary.

CAN-BUS OUTPUTS

This is strictly race stuff. CAN refers to any network of modules, not specific to the BMW network. It could be AiM, Motec, or any other racing dash or PDM system you have installed. KMP has 6 digital output channels in addition to the CAN-Bus output.
