How to Identify the Correct B48 Oil Pan

There are two different oil pan designs commonly encountered on BMW B48 engines, and each requires a different STROM baffle.

Early Oil Pan:

• BMW P/N 11138611694

• Uses STROM baffle 99.00038

• Does not have the distinctive bulge beside the oil drain plug

Late Oil Pan:

• BMW P/N 11138580122

• Uses STROM baffle 99.00037

• Has a small bulge on the bottom of the oil pan next to the drain plug

If your oil pan does not have the bulge, this 99.00038 baffle is the appropriate version.

If your oil pan does have the bulge, you will require the STROM 99.00037 baffle instead.
